Okay, so I'm building my first gaming pc, yes only now, also, kinda on a budget, just want to know what you guys think:
MSI H170 GAMING M3 Motherboard,
MSI GeForce GTX 1060 ARMOR OC GPU,
Intel Core i5 6500 6th Generation Processor,
Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 8GB 2400MHz DDR4 Memory,
Samsung 750 EVO 120GB SSD,
Western Digital Blue 1TB HDD,

I already have an ATX case and the Cooler Master B500 v2 PSU, and in the future I'll get another 8GB of RAM.

Solution
not disagreeing with how important a PSU can be, but you also have to note. this is a non OC system with a H motherboard, non K chip and a 1060 GFX
2 drives, peck load is only going to be around 270-300 watts. so not hard loading the PSU

Is it a risk? walking outside is a risk :) you have to balance. if you can afford a seasonic get one, that's all i've used for years
Assuming that your budget isn't real large:

120GB SSD instead of 240GB or larger... Understood.
CM B500 v2 PSU - not the greatest, but may be good enough until you can get around to replacing it. (Does it have enough PCIe connectors for the GPU?)
8GB RAM, with future plans to upgrade. This will work, and probably work for a while before needing 16GB. Is this the cheapest 8GB of RAM you like?

Other than the comments above, This is a pretty decent build and I don't see anything that looks like a major issue. If you want to personally see how these parts play together (budget/pricing/compatibility issues) you can always put your part list together over at PCPartPicker.com too.

Why is that friend? Yes, thats the only good ram i could find, 2133 will be fine

True, it won't run 2400 @ 2400. It will run 2400 (or higher) @ 2133. Something RAM will default to anyway without XMP enabled and manually adjusting voltage and timings on the boards that support it (Z170 boards.)

Yes, the gpu only has one 6 pin. I did check the compatibility on pcpartpicker, but i live in South-Africa, so the prices don't really help me there. But thanks for the input friend.

PSU has 2x 6+2 connectors so no worries there, its not the bee's knees but that's not what the build is intended to be I think. overall a pretty solid first build. if you're wanting to up the PSU look at a Seasonic but expect to double the price of the PSU unit

Cheap psu are made some pretty cheap chinese capacitors and mosfet design, which is like testing your luck. If it works for you, all well and good. But when these cheap units blow out, sometimes they tend to take other components down along with them.
PSU is one of the most vital unit of your pc that people tend to overlook.

Solution
if you can stretch your budget to one, get a SeaSonic 520W 80+ Bronze Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply.

Don't know what they will cost over in SA though, £65 in UK for a T2 PSU

R12 000, so about $880, but shit's not cheap over here, there aren't a lot of online suppliers here, and the walk in stores' prices are ludicrous.

haha, no, input is always welcomed, thanks for the help friends

no dude, not looking at overclocking at all. just want 1080p gaming at 60fps high or ultra settings. Overclocking would be nice, but maybe i'll upgrade in the future.

Then you already have the right kind of parts for that budget. Just get a decent psu unit if you wish to and you should be good.
Also the h170 board you have chosen, is a relatively expensive one. This is also a good h170 board with similar features but cheaper. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/7tp323/gigabyte-motherboard-gah170md3h
That being said, i have no idea what kind of prices are prevailing over there. :pfff:

I whole-heartedly agree that we don't know. PCPP doesn't cover SA (or any part of Africa that I could discern.) I've also ran into the fact we in the States can (or could at the time I looked at this particular case) get a GTX-1050 for around $109-10 USD. However in India the cheapest price was over the equivalent of $140 USD... pushing the purchaser into a GTX-750Ti instead. (Yes, even the GTX-950 was over that $140 budget limit.)

yeah man, even worse here in SA, cheapest GTX 1060 is $345
