Hi, My current 2 year old System Specifications is this:

psu: s12II-620
cpu: 3570K, not yet OC, but planning after 1 year.
mobo: asrock extreme4
ram: 2x4gb @1600
hdd: 1xsataIII 7200rpm
cabinet: supports till 10"(1st pci slot), 12"(2nd slot)
display: 1080p
Fans: 3Nos

I have already felt the bottleneck in my HDD and seriously considering an SSD upgrade within a month, but, my current doubt is to the purchase of a graphics card. I am considering Asus strix 970 OC edition, available in India for around 29k INR, plus free Farcry4.

just want to confirm whether my PSU supports this 970, also the pin support, and please suggest any bottlenecks other than my HDD.

Also, kindly comment whether choosing a samsung evo SSD 120GB is a poor option or not?

Alternatively, if not the above graphics card, then what is your best price-performance bet in the same budget?

And your mother board does have two pci 16x slots. As stated here.

Hope this helps 😀. You should be good to go with the GTX 970

The GTX 970 would be a great performer and match to your current setup up. Usually, the HDD doesn't cause a bottleneck when gaming but does bring slower loading times. The Samsung 840 Evo is a fine choice. Alternatively, you can find an R9 290 but the GTX 970 is more efficient and faster for 1080p gaming.

hi TheDualshock,
hmm.. here in india, the 290 non-x is $110 more than the 970, also without the free game bundle (both asus). then i guess its 970 then.

hi adam45417,
btw, i think strix970 is having additional single 6-pin power requirement? right? as my 620w is having 6-pin only i suppose.

yes, i have to put it in 2nd slot. can you please confirm whether my 2nd PCI slot is also x16?
