So i have this dell xps 13 with i7 6500u integrated graphics and when i try to play minecraft with it lags because of the amount of pixels.i want to turn it down to 720p or 1080p but when i do it looks terrible on the 3k display.most of the display when 720p or 1080p is blurry and only clear when 3k.help can i make it look good in 720p or 1080p?

Solution
the only way to game on it is on window mode sadly. I would hide the icons and desktop background as the taskbar too, trying to emulate a fullscreen mode.
What do you mean by 3k? 3440x1440? If that is the case then yeap ugly as hell. It has to do with the physical proportions of the monitor and the size and form of the pixels. Simply when you scale down the result isn't proportionate. In 4k (2*(1920x1080)) when you game on 1080 you simple divide by four and you have a perfect scaling. In 3k that is impossible. If you get what i mean.

Most monitors do not scale that well. As said above the pixels simply do not divide evenly. Even a 1920 x 1080 screen at 960 x 540 looks like crap(it does not just use 4 pixels for every one.).

If your screen can do what most 4k screens do, try to create a custom resolution of exactly half your current height and width.

So 1720 x 720 for a 3440 x 1440.

my qhd+ laptop display is 3k and not 4k it is 3200x1800 native resolution
