Question 1080p monitor but can only play games at 768p

I Connected my laptop to a monitor a while ago and recently got back to gaming after being extremely busy. The monitor is an ASUS VP228HE which is a 1920x1080 monitor, however when i launch a game the max resolution i can choose is 1366x768. Any idea of why?
