Solution
Minecraftgeeks, you can setup 1080p on a 1440 display any number of ways, from zoomed in with black bars all around, to full screen, but upscaled by either your graphics card or the display. Just select the resolution in your games setting like you normally would for the internal rendering resolution / performance tradeoff you want.

Rendering at non-native sizes and upscaling will yield a slightly soft image. Set your desktop to the native monitor resolution for the sharpest/clearest image while working the desktop.

The 1060 can reach further than you think at 2560 x 1440 if you are willing to tweak a bit and don't need ultra settings graphics.

Consider a 16:9 2560x1440p monitor.
More screen area, suitable for most content thats out there, no black bars. Better vertical height for work, browsing etc.

Available from Samsung and better than the backlight bleed, colour & brightness uniformity and other quality problems that plague most 'gaming' monitors. (See all the problems even with $1000 monitors e.g. people going through 4x x34 predators and asus etc to find one that works correctly)
Also at that resolution the DPI is exact same as 1080p @24" so there is 0 scaling issues. Everything is perfect and normal size at default 100%

... and the gaming is superb
