Hi!

My system:
i7-4790k @4,5 ghz
16GB Crucial RAM
250GB Samsung SSD
GPU: 2x MSI GTX 980 SLI

I already got a BenQ XL2720T with 120 Hz and i LOVE it. But i would like to have G-Sync (i know it's expensive now and i should wait but i don't like waiting). I use it 90% for video games and i'm just sitting in front of the screen so i don't really need an IPS panel.

My Question now is:

Should i get a 1080p Acer XB270H with G-Sync or is it better to move up to 1440p and buy the ASUS ROG Swift?

I know it's a bit of an "overkill" to have a 1080p with that setup but i like to play all games at ULTRA with all maxed out and to have still about 100 fps.

What would you recommend me?

With that setup I would go with the Asus Rog Swift. I recently bought the Asus Rog Swift for myself and I run it on a single GTX780. The only game I struggle to play maxed out right now is Witcher 3 which only runs ~ 20 FPS maxed out. Bear in mind that I am only running a single GTX780 vs your two GTX980's. Turning some of the settings down help bring the frame rate up. At 1080p you are wasting the capability of your graphics cards, and even if your framerate drops below 100, Gsync will make it barely noticeable until you start dropping below 30fps. Games that can push all 144Hz of the Rog swift look so smooth it's ridiculous. I went back and forth on it until I saw one at microcenter on display and I ended up leaving with it that day. Couldn't be happier. Besides, 1080p is slowly on it's way out as 4K starts to take over, so if you can afford it I think it's time to start looking beyond 1080p for new monitor purchases if you can afford it.
