1080p Video cant play on my HDTV

Hello,I just bought a new HDTV when i connected to the vga with my dell tower it works great but when i play a 1080p video on youtube it lags... im so confused cuz my old old very old monitor played the 1080p normally i dont know why this happen ?

try connecting it via DVI or HDMI ..
