hi people! im looking for a monitor and i saw 2. one is a 1080p(curved) VA panel, 144Hz. the other is a 2k TN panel 144Hz.

what should i buy?

i have an 8700k and im planning to buy a 2070

Ty.

Your system will handle either. Pick the one that you like the most. The difference in resolution between the two isn't that much.

I have a UHD 4k TV. It has a great picture. But when I started looking for 4K video I tried 4K Netflix. There were some very small touches that you could discern the extra resolution. But I decided it wasn't worth the extra Netflix cost and I went back to 1080P Netflix. My point being that you will not notice the difference between 1080P and 2K.

Nice reply dude, ty !!

That's a pretty big generalization based on your specific experience, that ignores important variables like screen size and viewing distance. Furthermore, not all 4K video is the same as it depends on what bit rate was used when encoding it (which isn't an factor for gaming).

For computer monitors it is true. On large TV's the difference in resolution is more apparent. 1080P stretched over a 65" TV wouldn't be the best scenario.

But when you are talking about a 27" computer monitor for example, I would still say to pick the one you like the most rather than on resolution alone.

But you typically sit much further from a TV than a monitor. A 65" 1080p TV viewed from 6 feet away has about the same angular resolution (pixels per degree) as a 27" 1080 monitor viewed from 2.5 feet away. So a 27" 1080p monitor at 2.5' would look as clear as a 65" 1080p TV at 6'.
