1920X1080 how much card do I need?

560, 6870? or less..

Mass Effect2 and Tropico have maxed out my 9800GT.
Gonna move to SC2, don't see me needing better than 1080p for games.

955e
ssd for w7-64
8gb ddr3

WHAT DO?

GTX 560TI is better than HD 6870, will let you max out some of the newest and upcoming games at 1080 FPS, however it doesn't crack with high end games such as Crysis 2 and Metro 2033, still providing good FPS @ high quality.

So i would go for the GTX 560Ti..not the standard GTX 560

Depends on what you can afford. The 6870 or 560 will do quite well with most titles at 1080p. The 560Ti is about 10% faster and will provide noticeably better performance in the small selection of really graphically demanding titles. If you plan on playing a lot of Witcher 2, Battlefield 3, Crysis, Crysis 2 or Metro 2033 you may want to invest the extra money in either a 560Ti or 6950 1GB. If not, you can get away with a 6870 or 560 non Ti, though you may have to look at an upgrade slightly sooner down the road. It will depend on when the new console generation hits, or if the developers get tired of the XBox 360's limitations and start focusing more on pushing PC hardware.

IMO for 1080p:
HD6770 or GTX 550 Ti = Ok
HD6850 or GTX 460 = Good
HD6870 or GTX 560 = Very Good
HD6950 or GTX 560 Ti = Great
HD6970 or GTX 570 = Excellent
GTX 580 or GTX 590 or HD6990 = I have too much money and want to spend it on video cards

lol sounds great.
