1080TI or wait for next gen?

Hi guys, recently Hot chips event 2018 did stated there will be the next generation GPU discussion on 20 August. But now they change the sch

edule only left intel and amd will be discuss about the gpu.

So, i am going to build my very first desktop. Need suggestion for just wait for it or just buy 1080ti?

So thats mean the GPU will now release in this year?

Those release dates always tend to be extended to a later date. I don't expect them until Christmas time if then.
