1080ti vs Vega 64 with Freesync

Hello, I have a 24" 4K freesync monitor. I am looking to upgrade my GPU. My question is, will I see better performance at 4k with the 1080Ti despite not having adaptive sync or should I stick with an AMD product. I do not want to replace my monitor. My current setup is I5-4690, 16GB RAM, R9 290 4GB. I know the 1080Ti outpaces the vega, I'm just not sure if freesync will make up the difference or if it's worth the extra money. I would go for the 1080ti, and enable FastSync. I use that on my 4k monitor with a 1070 and its an enjoyable experience.

Hi,
For 4k gaming, the 1080ti is the card of choice. The TI can run most AAA games at around 60fps, some a little higher, some a little lower. It is by far, the best GPU on the market at the moment. It out performs the Vega 64 but then again, it should for the higher price bracket. The 1080ti will see you good for a few years to come i think. I would take a 1080ti. It is significantly faster and also runs cooler. Fastsync is an option, one I would likely opt for. Given that it is a 24" monitor, and the only one that I know of is 60hz... you might not need fastsync as your video card will generally keep up. Might try using afterburner instead, as it works like v-sync but without the performance hit.
