1080Ti with three 1440p monitors (one 144hz)? Will this work?

Long story short: I have two 1440p monitors 60hz, and one 1080p 144hz. Connecting all three is great, works no problem.

I replaced the 1080p with another 1440p 144hz monitor. My system is crashing and burning. My card refuses to output to 3 monitors at once. Plugging in three monitors causes all screens to go black and won't show any picture until a hard reset.

My question is, will a 1080Ti support three 1440p monitors? I am understanding that it should. I only game on one monitor, will just having the extra monitors connected kill my fps? Perhaps I should run one through my motherboard?

Any idea why I can't connect all three without blackness?

SOLUTION: Turns out using one non VESA compliant cable was ruining everything. I swapped out the one cable I had with the one that came with the monitor, stamped DP, and they all work without a hitch now!

Yeah, your iGPU should be able to output 1440p/60Hz over HDMI.

However, come to think about it, doing 1x1440p/60Hz and 1x1440p/144Hz is still greater than the 1080Ti's maximum resolution of 7680x4320/60Hz, in terms of pixels per second. Not sure if that is significant.

So I would need to put one monitor through my motherboard to keep it off the card?

I was on the phone with EVGA support who tried their best to help but really had no other idea besides run a driver uninstall utility and try it again. ONE TIME I got it to work... with HDMI. That is, 2 displayports and 1 HDMI. But then I went to change my refresh rate down to 60hz from 144 and it all went black. I managed to get one monitor running through my motherboard instead.. so two displayports into the GPU and 1 HDMI into my motherboard.. I'm not sure if this is beneficial.. I suppose it is since my gfx card has less to render when i'm gaming?

I'm just somewhat upset that my gfx card is not working as it should... I am considering replacing all my DP cables to maybe some better ones, perhaps mine are causing an issue.. not sure.

At this point i'm just annoyed that I "can't but should be able to".

So should my i7-6700K be able to support a 2k monitor ok? not for gaming, just maybe netflix at most.
