Hi everyone,

So here's my situation, I recently bought a new monitor from a webshop. The monitor is advertised as being able to run in 1080x1920 @75Hz but I can't get it past 60Hz on this resolution.

In order to run @75Hz I have to lower the resolution. FeelsBadMan :/ .

All my pilots whether (GPU's + Monitor) are up to date.

The screen model is : Liyama G-MASTER GE2488HS-B2 and from this page (https://iiyama.com/gb_en/products/g-master-ge2488hs-b2/) in the specs tab you can clearly see that it can handle the resolution + refresh rate I would like it to.

Thanks for reading, I hope someone can help me 😀 .

What GPU do you have? What connector are you using? HDMI, DVI-D or VGA?
If the monitor can do 75Hz, it should be able to at all resolutions.

Essentially 75Hz is an overclock - and you should be able to overclock 1080p to 75Hz without issues.
How you do that specifically, will depend on the GPU you have.

You may have to use a digital input (HDMI or DVI) for >60HZ.
Technically, the VGA spec can support up to 85Hz, but there's many variables - including length/quality of the cable.... so digital should be easier.

Hi Barty,

First off, thanks for answering, I'm currently owning a Nvidia GTX 1060 GPU and it's plugged through HMDI plus it is written on the website that the monitor handles such resolution at that specific refresh rate so I shouldn't have any issues displaying 1080x1920 @75Hz.

Could you walk me through the steps I should follow to do such overclocking, not really aware of that.

Thanks.

I come back here to let you know that it worked out well, I managed to set it by following the step by step tutorial you posted

Thanks again, Barty, for your help. I'll close this thread now 😀 .
