I have a Dell Inspiron 15 3000 laptop running Linux Mint (Linux Mint 20.3 Una):
Linux mitch-Inspiron-3558 5.4.0-131-generic #147-Ubuntu SMP Fri Oct 14 17:07:22 UTC 2022 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Using Zoom with the built-in speakers and microphone, the sound level is very low, even with
all volume controls all the way up.
I can put in an external 3.5mm speaker which works fine, but this somehow prevents the
microphone from working.
I have also tested this with Skype and it behaves the same way.
I am guessing this is expected behavior somehow based on the hardware specs. Is that true?
If so, should a standard combo headset and mic work okay?
Thanks,
Bood
