I have had my samsung 750 evo 500gb for about 3 months and according to the samsung madician I have written 10.5TB. I have only installed windows 10 and about 5 games on it yet it just keeps on writing. I cant think its the os since what possibly writes 3tb in a month. Is there some software I can use to check what is doing this. I don't want to replace this ssd in a while and if its going to follow this trend its going to die soon.

So in short what I want is.
A software that can check how much each process is writing to the ssd.
Or reasons this could be happening and way to check/fix+
Any other helpful tips welcome as well.

Thanks for your time

I don't know how accurate that figure is or where it gets it from, or even when the period starts. IS it saying the drive status is good?

You can click the SMART button and it will show more info on drive status. my power on hours roughly counts up to a 324 days, that is about right

it has to be the operating system as my 250gb ssd is showing its had 8tb written to it but I don't know when that starts or anything. I have only used 51gb myself, so I don't know how thats even possible.

You could (if you have 2 drives) move the page file onto a hdd and that will reduce the writes but will slow reaction time when you do use page file - http://winaero.com/blog/how-to-move-page-file-in-windows-10-to-another-disk/

I have roughly 71 days of use and from what I can see it says its ok

It also includes a 3-year limited warranty or up to 100 terabytes written (TBW).*
*3 years or TBW (120 GB: 35 TBW, 250 GB: 70 TBW, 500 GB: 100 TBW), whichever comes first.

http://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/minisite/ssd/product/consumer/750evo.html

by that and at your rate, you will reach 100tbw by 2 years, so before your warranty runs out

TBW
120/250GB: 75TBW
500GB/1TB: 150 TBW

mine only has 75tbw to reach, but it is smaller. Mine seems on track to easily come under that figure, but mine only has windows + applications on it, all the data and games are on the hdd, so my ssd gets very little wear.

Having 5 games on there could increase the wear

I did some digging and saw nvidia constant using the disk then it clicked that shadow play might be perma writing to the disk causes this large amount of writes and so I turned it off I think this might have been the cause will update the thread when I am sure
