I had an Intel Pentium Dual Core 2.00Ghz since 2008.
Now I see an offer to upgrade it to Intel i7 3770 (Not an Overclock version).

I keep something in mind that my PC still runs on the very old Motherboard itself.
I need to get a cheap but decent one to match the i7, but I really don't know which.

Well, here's the full spec of my Legendary setup :
PSU - 480 Watts
CPU - Intel Pentium Dual Core 2.00 Ghz
GPU - Nvidia GT 630 2GB
RAM - 4 GB (3.5 GB usable)
MB - Asus PL-?????
OS - Windows 7 Professional x64
MT - Asus VH168D 720p
RS - 1024 x 768

I'm on the budget around 500$ for everything.
I know it may bottleneck pretty hard on my GPU but I don't mind.
Had another plan to pair it with GTX 750 Ti, should be good ?

and talking about gaming, i mainly play offline games.
not the AAA ones but in the same modern time.
Pentium really struggles to maintain a balance 20 fps for most of them. (30 smooth fps is all i need)

Still deciding to wait for it dies or save it by upgrading right now.

How long a CPU last anyway ?
I never had mine goes overheating and pushed off the limit.
Also still no sign of degradation to this day.

A CPU will pretty much last forever under the right circumstances. Other components (motherboard, predominantly) will give out long before a CPU will

Where are you located?

SketchUp's requirements are minimal but like a lot of tasks, the more horsepower you can throw at it, the more it can/will use (to a point, of course).

At $500 though, I don't know if I'd want to invest into a ~7 year old i7, regardless of how much of a step up it is for you.

Assuming your case & storage are still up to the task, you could hop to a modern platform, 6c/12t, DDR4 and a new GPU for ~$500.

Realistically, with the games you describe, you could even reuse the 750TI for the time being if you didn't want to spend the full ~$500 right now.

Thanks for the marks !

Currently in Indonesia, it's a long story.
I will take a price note on the Motherboard.

But wait... do I also need to change my PSU ?
Might pair i7 3770/GTX 750 Ti. Will it keep my old PSU to run them ?

Oh and I forgot to mention my 3 HDDs.
1. 300 GB
2. 50 GB
3. 1 TB

Sure... in my current country, some of your advised hardwares are not available around here.

What I do really want to know is,
Will it be worth the journey for the next 5 - 10 years ?
