Hello guys

Im looking to build a new pc on a $1100 budget, planning to purchase the parts within 2 weeks.

This system will mainly be for gaming, and photoediting, mostly Adobe Lightroom.
I dont play too many extremely GPU needy games, so i dont think i'll need a top notch graphics card. i've considered the i7 4770k, but will hyperthreading make a major difference in photo editing?

Here is my planned build

http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/1gMLx

I couldnt get the pricing to work on the GPU and PSU but here they are

GPU
$235

PSU
$99
http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=22420

I havnt picked a case yet, but im planning to spend around $100-120, pref with usb 3.0 in the front.

CPU Cooling
$39 CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO CPU Cooler

Currently at ~ $1052
Is this system ok? are there other alternatives that'll get me more bang for the buck? suggestions highly appreciated.

Many thanks!

thanks for the response!

physx does look like a very cool feature, i too would like to get the gtx 760, but the price is almost 100 dollars more than the 7870 ><, im not sure if i want to spend $100 more on a gpu.

i forgot to mention, i'm in victoria, australia right now, ill be doing all the shopping @ pccasegear.com not sure what the prices are everywhere else in the world, but in australia the asus gtx 760 is at $339 atm.

do you recommend any other GPUs around the same price, but brings more performance?

aside from the GPU, what do you think about the other parts?

thanks!

The GTX760 is $250 in USA ..

if you can get it get it , it is worth it. and it is faster than 7870 and better

yeah, i think i will squeeze a little bit more out of my pocket and get the GTX760 thanks for the advice!

also can you please have a look at my set up, will it turn on and run smoothly after i put it all together? are all the parts compatible? i've matched the ram and cpu and mobo sockets, but im not sure if i chose the right parts, this is my first time building a comp from scratch ><

many thanks!

I am looking at the memory that will work with your mother board

here is how you find such things

http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z87%20Extreme3/?cat=Memory

this is your motherboard and the tested memory on it. you should match the mdel number .. and get one that passed all tests (OC Optional)

the memory you chosen is not in the list :) looking for other one

Solution

ahhh ok, so as long as i get a suitable ram that is in that list on the asrock site it will be perfectly compatible.

thanks for your help!
ill post the updates when my system is built!
