Interested in building a new PC as I'm currently playing games on a laptop which is not optimal to say the least.
I'm willing to spend $1100 (+/- $100) and I need an OS and Monitor in addition to the usual stuff. I have no preference when it comes to Intel VS AMD or AMD vs NVIDIA. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance! :).

Solution
Approximate Purchase Date: Two weeks

Budget Range: $1100 After rebate

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming(will be the system's primary use. Specific games: Battlefield 3, Starcraft 2, Far Cry 3, Guild Wars 2, etc.), Surfing the internet/media stuff, and some light word processing/power point.

Parts Not Required: Keyboard, mouse, speakers

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Normally get my stuff from Newegg but I'm not biased.

Country: USA

Parts Preferences: Not really any specific brand preferences. I just want the best price to performance ratio I can get. IE spending $100 more for ~5 FPS isn't going to be worth it for me, but at the same time I want a really good system.

Overclocking: Probably not.

SLI or Crossfire: No

Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

Additional Comments: None really, just want to maximize my dollar and still get a good PC.

Thanks for the welcome!:) I've been lurking around the site for a while and just now decided to post cause I've seen all the great help you all give.

Oh wow, that is absolutely stellar. I've been trying to compile some halfway decent build for the last week and it wasn't as good as that was. I couldn't figure out where exactly to cut it in price either, but that is really really slick. Very much appreciate the help :)
