110v card in a 230v inspiron 530s - power conversion

I have a Dell Inspiron 530s with a 250w power supply - it's switched to 230v as I live in the UK. I want to fit a TV card in the PCI Express slot. It's a Hauppauge 2250 and requires 110v which i believe it draws from the motherboard. Am I right in thinking that all I need to do is get a step down power converter (220v to 110v/240v to 110v ?) and plug my pc into it, switching the red switch on the back of the psu to 110v, then install the card and have fun setting it up? Will this work? Will the change in the power supply affect the rest of the system adversely? Please help! I don't want to fry the new TV card!

Unless your card receives a 110V from a plug connected to the wall, it's entirely run of 12/5/3.3 V DC. Your PSU converts AC to correct voltage DC. No AC gets out of your PSU.

Where does it state it needs 110V,it appears to be a PCIe slot board,just plug it into the slot.
Whatever you do DO NOT change the PSU voltage to 110 or you will need a new PSU and possibly a new PC.

Just plug the card in, leave the PSU on 220V, don't get any voltage converters.
