What version of windows you're using? Has it just got updated? sometimes windows updates are known to cause bugs and issues. If that's your case then you may wanna uninstall those updates and reset to stock windows settings. And you said you're experiencing problems after the update of your graphics driver, then you should ROLLBACK( To Rollback a driver update, simply go to device manager, click Display Adapters, then a tab will open, there you can see your graphics adapter name [GTX 1070] click onto that, then click on driver details and there you'll likely to spot the ROLLBACK driver option) those driver updates and use the one that came with the Driver Disk when you bought the card.
