Im using i7 4790k and unfortunately it is 1150 socket

I want to build a mini ITX system with a small ITX mobo...

sadly, it looks like i also have to upgrade my CPU as most mobo these days are 1151 chipset?

How long will 1151 chipset last and when will they be replaced.. maybe this fall? next year?

if they are replaced soon, when should i wait for latest chipset?

Thanks.

When it comes to Intel, just assume that anytime you want to do an upgrade you'll have to replace the motherboard.

LGA1156 (Lynnfield, Clarkdale), LGA1155(Sandy, Ivy), LGA1150 (Haswell, Devil's Canyon, Broadwell), LGA1151 (Skylake, Kabylake, Coffeelake*)

*There may be an LGA1151v2, I'm sure it will be backwards compatible, but so far it doesn't look like Coffeelake will work in older motherboards.
