Hi,

I have the mentioned processor and I want to overclock it. I know that it is not a "K" processor and the multiplier is locked, so the overclocking potential is limited. However, I read some comments on the internet, that some motherboards allow you to rise the multiplier up to x38 on this cpu and to achieve something closer to 38x105 (4ghz). For me this will be enough. I'm not quite sure what motherboard (chipset) do you need to do this - As far as I'm informed p67 is OK, but I want to buy something newer, for example z77. Can somebody confirm, that z77 supports this option?
Thank you!

You cannot overclock the 2400... whatever mobo as it's a non-k series cpu. You can overclock the TURBO mode, which is a single core overclock... which will scale back as more cores are utilized.
I highly doubt the turbo mode overclock will get to 3.99ghz... 3.6 or 3.7, i could see.
only way is overclocking the bclk (which i wouldn't suggest you do).

I have not speed connection to watch videos, however I think you will get more problems than benefits from OC that non-k CPU, cause more than an issue will arise from OC activities based on not multiplier options.
So its not worth, due to max OC potentioal from a non-K is very limited, whatever mobo chipset.
