Hi guys, I am going to build a computer in a few weeks, and was wondering if there are any good 1155 motherboard.
I'll be building a gaming tower (HAF X) and I want something reliable. I don't care about USB 3.0 (I probably will
not to using it) or using the CPU graphpics, so P67 should be fine, but Z68 always better. I like to keep it under $250, so no super high end boards like a ASUS Rampage. I've been looking
around and this is some of the boards. ASUS P8P67 EVO, ASUS Sabertooth, MSI P67A-GD65, Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3, Asrock P67 Professional Fatality, Asrock Extreme 3 and 4

So any suggestions are welcome, I'll probably be building it on Sept. 18 or earlier. I perrably would like to buy offline (But online is fine)

Thanks in advance! :bounce:

Thanks for your reply! I was going to get a Sabertooth, but I heard it can get hot under the termal amour. And as for me, I like to over clock my i5 2500k to at least 4 GHZ, so is the power phases enough?

Thanks in advance! :bounce:

How about a P8p67 Pro or Evo? I don't think I would need onboard video for the CPU.

Are you talking about the P67 Fatal1ty, or the Z68 Professional? Their two different things. And, I thought both boards are both gaming. What do you mean it's not for gaming?

The THermall armor comes off if you want.
And there is a door on the thermal armor to attach a pusher fan so you dont have to use the stock intel heat sink so you can overclock the crap out of it.

Like I said, I have the z68 Fatal1ty. Did you follow the Newegg link I provided to the board? Here's the link to Asrock's specs for the z68 Fatal1ty:

http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=Fatal1ty%20Z68%20Professional%20Gen3

The board is fine for gaming. I was referring to the CPU graphics (onboard video) which I assume you would not want to use for gaming, and you said in your OP you didn't care about CPU graphics. The board supports Quad Crossfire or Quad SLI.

Thanks for the reply and clearing things up! But what advantages does the board have over the P67 Fatal1ty? Since I don't need onboard video, I thought I could just get P67. :??:

I think the p67 Fatal1ty is a good board for you. I was all set to get that board back around Feb. Then the recall of all manufacturers p67 boards happened, so I waited on z68. I do photo / video editing, so the z68 is better for me paired with the i7 2600k.

Not much difference in the 2 boards I don't believe. PCI-E 3.0 capability on the z68 when that's available, so maybe more future proof (will require Ivy Bridge CPU). z68 Fatal1ty will also support Ivy Bridge CPU when that comes out; I don't think the p67 Fatal1ty will. So, again, maybe more future proof, for what that's worth. But considering the Asrock p67 Fatal1ty Pro Newegg price is $230, and you can get the z68 Fatal1ty Pro for $235, you may as well spend the extra $5 and get the newer Fatal1ty z68 board.

:sol: :sol: :sol: stick to z68 boards these are very good in gaming, video editing, and best to run normal pc apps. and if u go with asus they are great at over clocking. :sol: :sol: :sol:

I don't need the extra integrated video for z68. P67 should be enough. I'm thinking of getting the Asrock P67 Extreme Gen3 or the Asrock P67 Fatall1ty
