1156 fan work with 1155 chip

I have an i7 2600K and I need to add a cpu fan. Can I use a fan that is designed for the 1156 socket?

If you are worried about the pysical mounting compatibiltiy, most are compatible.

Yes, you can. The good thing about LGA1155 is that the holes, socket size and mounting procedure is exactly the same as that of the LGA1156 socket, the only thing that differs is the pins inside the socket itself (which doesn't play a role here whatsoever). Use the fan with confidence and enjoy the 2600K!
