12 Corsair SP120 Performance Edition Fans

Hi there guys, hope i get more responses on this post than my last one as that was a flop for adive lol.

I had 12 fans on order as mentioned in the title. I will have 6 on a 360mm rad in push/pull config at the top of my case, 4 in push/pull in the bottom, then one in the middle and an exhaust at the back. Now my question, how can i manage these fans? The performance edition fans are rated at 35dB at max RPM i think. But i wont need them running at max RPM. So how should i configure these fans? Also power will be an issue. How do i power them all?

I suggest you use a fan controller, which can usually accommodate up to 12 fans(in terms of power).

I suggest using a splitter to control the fans in pairs (i.e. each push fan with its corresponding pull fan)

this is a good idea because you never want one fan that's pushing to be going faster then the fan pulling. also its hard to find a 12 fan controller.

Would you suggest controlling each fan individually or using a PWM splitter and grouping them up?

I suggest grouping each pull/push fan as a group using a splitter and connecting the other end to a fan controller with 6 controls. I would actually even go as far as connecting all 6 and all 4 as a group, since you really don't want to have to individual adjust all 3 pairs of fans on the rad.

its easier to have 1 control to control the fans on one rad, and 1 control for the other rad.

Yeh i was thinking that but would the speed function work properly if i use multiple splitters? Say i use a 2 way and a 4 way for the 6 fans then connect them together using a 2 way would i still have full function over then all?

yes but you would need a powerful fan controller that can output high wattage/channel.

you'd need to figure how many watts each fan uses, and multiple that by the number you have.

so lets say each fan uses 5W(or less), 6 of them would use 30W, so you'd need a fan controller that can accommodate atleast 30W per channel.

this will give you full control.
