120/144hz with only hdmi and VGA port on laptop

I just bought an Asus MG248Q monitor which can provide 144hz but I have currently hooked it up with an hdmi cable to my laptop and it only goes up to 60hz. How can i get to 120 or 144hz?
Laptop has GTX 950M with intel 4600 HD graphics, also it only has VGA and HDMI port.

HDMI cannot support high refresh rates, it wasn't part of the specifications until HDMI 2.1, which is very new.

I have no idea if VGA does.
