Hello fellow PC builders, I am new to this site, but have been building computers several times back in my day. I'm looking for a build that will play current and upcoming games like : Rage, Elder Scrolls V, Diablo III, Battlefield 3, Modern Warfare 3, Starcraft II, Batman AC, Crysis 2, and many others on Very High Settings. And also a PC that is very future proof. PCI-E Gen 3, and an Ivy Bridge Compatible Board is a must. Thank you for taking your time at looking at my build. Any insights or suggestions is welcomed.

Approximate Purchase Date: 2-8 Weeks

Budget Range: $1200-1400

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, Multimedia, Web Surfing

Parts Not Required: Keyboard, mouse, speakers, OS etc.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg, Amazon, Tigerdirect etc.

Country of Origin: USA, CA

Parts Preferences: Intel based motherboard that is compatible with Ivy Bridge.

Overclocking: Yes

SLI or Crossfire: Yes / Later On

Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

Additional Comments: Game it now, and upgrade later.

Parts Decided/Deciding On :

CPU - Intel i2500k 3.3 Ghz, will upgrade to Ivy Bridge when it releases around 1H 2012 $220.

MOBO - MSI LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX with UEFI BIOS(G3), Ivy Bridge and PCI-e 3.0 Supported $235

GPU - EVGA SuperClocked GTX 560 (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5, will upgrade to new line of GPU as soon as they're available. $200

RAM - CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 $55

SSD - Still Deciding, will get one in the near future.

HDD - Western Digital 1.5 TB Caviar Black SATA 6 Gb/s 7200 RPM 64 MB Cache $110

PSU - Corsair Enthusiast Series 750-Watt 80 Plus Bronze Certified, $110.

CASE - Cooler Master HAF 922 $90

DVD - LG 24x SATA DVD+/-RW Internal Drive (Black) $30

HSF - Cooler Master Hyper 212 120mm $30

DISPLAY - Viewsonic LED 24-Inch Widescreen LED Monitor Full HD 1080p and Speakers $180

Total before TAX and Shipping : $1260

I am willing to upgrade my Mobo to z77, when it comes out and a better RAM if it greatly improves performance with Ivy Bridge. I know I might need a little more juice in the PSU department if I'm going to OC, and SLI. I won't plan SLI till years after my build, so I think 750 Watts should be just sufficient for the time being.

Once again thank you all, and any suggestions, or ideas are greatly appreciated =)

Good looking out on the PCI-E 3.0 :) You did your homework. I see too many posters on here buying boards that don't support PCI-E 3.0 and it's going to be their loss.

As the other poster pointed out, that case lacks the front USB 3.0 ports...but no biggy. This board down below comes with a nifty black USB 3.0 front panel w/a 2.5" SSD bracket that fits right on to the front of that case like it was made for it. And it supports PCI-E 3.0 for Ivy Bridge.

ASRock P67 EXTREME4 GEN3 LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=P67%20Extreme4%20Gen3 <----- A better look at that board. If you scroll half way down you can see that black USB 3.0 panel that I mentioned, and you can also see it in the pics on that newegg link.

http://www.asrock.com/microsite/PCIe3/ <----- PCI-E 3.0 boards

http://www.asrock.com/mb/index.asp?s=1155 <----- All the boards on there that say Gen3 are the new PCI-E 3.0 boards

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007627%2050001944%20600093976%20600158412&IsNodeId=1&name=ASRock <----- That Asrock extreme7 Gen3 is the bad boy. It has that NF200 Bridge which allows dual cards to run @ x16 & x16 instead of the usual x8 & x8.

This panel down below will work also if you decide to stick with that MSI board in regards to a front USB 3.0 panel

Yeah I forgot about that. I'll be looking at other cases, but probably might stick with this one if there's USB 3 add on ports that I can have hanging out of my Floppy Drive Spot. Thnx for your reply
