BUDGET RANGE: $1200-$1500

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Gaming, internet surfing, communication stuff (skype etc), watching movies and listening to music

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: starting from scratch

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: i'm using cyberpower pc to have it built

PARTS PREFERENCES: intel processor, nivida graphics card

OVERCLOCKING: Maybe SLI OR CROSSFIRE: not right now, but would like to have the option to

MONITOR RESOLUTION: hoping for at least 1280x1024, to be quite honest i no close to nothing about monitors

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: i know for sure i plan to run Sims 3 on it, want it to run it. obiviously at high quality.

in crysis Q9550 plays exactly the same as the e8600, also switching to a p45 motherboard would be better..

thanks, changed to the 8600, though question about the p45, it says "crossfire ready" vs the board i had before says "sli ready" now from what i've been told crossfire means you can have dual radeon cards while SLI means you can have dual invidia cards if that is correct won't choosing one of the p45 mobo mean i won't be able to have dual invidia cards?

That pc is a hose job if Iv'e ever seen one. The 280 runs hot, it's a power hog, and it's being phased our by Nvidea. 16mb cache on the HD's ? That build would have been a decent one two years ago, but for 2009 it's not. Also those Nvidea boards buggy. With that budget you might as well go with an i7 build and get your money's worth. You could order the parts and have someone put it together if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself. Try calling around like a mom and pops pc store and see what they charge, but if you go this route your asking to be taken to the cleaners. I don't mean to sound harsh, but I'm sure you started this thread for an honest critique.

If you insist, I changed the mobo and gpu (4870x2) and some other things I can't remember now...pretty much everything.

he still has to carry it to the car, unless he's got an Asimo or a heavily modded roomba.

You hack your Roomba with the Wii balance board, setup a wireless webcam on it, install one of those wheelchair things on the stairs with a platform, buy a sled so your Roomba can haul the components...is this not on youtube yet?
