Budget: ~1200$ (USD)
Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mainly for gaming (newer titles including Cyberpunk 2077, COD: Modern Warfare 2 (2022), Control, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, etc.).
Other details: Going to purchase a 1440p (at least) 144hz monitor to go along with this build, however, I am not sure what to purchase (looking in the ~200$ range).

Here's my current list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/xZrqVw (manual prices are adjusted in accordance with the best prices I have found)

My two main questions are:

1) Is there anything wrong with my build? (I'm not very knowledgeable on motherboards and so am not sure if the motherboard I chose is sufficient or good).

2) Should I wait for prices to drop? Will they drop significantly in the next few months? (I'm not in a huge hurry but would prefer to buy soon rather than later.)

Solution
Motherboard is a little questionable. Doesn't have heatsinks on all the VRMs, just the main ones for CPU power. I usually point people to the ASRock Steel Legend as a decent entry level board. But that board of yours has Wifi and stuff, it would be fine.

Prices aren't likely to drop significantly. Ryzen 5600X is already heavily discounted to put it in competition with the i5-12400F.

7600X is quite pricey and the motherboards more so. 13400/13500 aren't out yet, but the 13600K is probably the better deal regardless. Since you can pick up a Z690 or B660 board with DDR4, even the DDR5 boards are cheaper.

Overall I would say you are on the right path. Maybe spend more on the motherboard.
