I have searched high and low for an answer and I can't seem to find anything that is the same issue I am having.

Here goes :

I installed windows 7 on my ssd and then uninstalled it later. now my ssd only shows 89gb free. I have tried formatting and it only allows me to format to 89gb, partitioning programs and it only shows 1 partition of 89gb

I literally lost 30gb of this SSD and I am at a loss on how to get it back.

Hi

What does bios say size of ssd is?
If you use a partitioning program either part of windows (disk management)
Or bootable cd of gparted

It will show you what size the partitions are
And if mbr or gpt partitioning was used
A default install of windows with mbr has one small partition which is hidden and has no drive letter
Gpt probably has several before and after the visible partition

Unless you realy have a 96 GB SSD you should get your space back
