120hz & 120fps requirements?

I'm planning to build a new gaming computer, I've picked everything except for the graphics card.

Core computer components related to GFX:
CPU : Intel Core-i5 3570k
Motherboard: Asus Sabertooth Z77
Monitor: Samsung S27A950
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB.
PSU: Corsair Enthusiast TX-750

Usage: Some heavy gaming (Call of Duty, Battlefield 3, LoL, Crysis 3 and more) & movies & some web surfing.

Going to play on the Samsung monitor 1920x1080 aiming to maintain 120hz & 120fps in 2D with max settings as much as possible & at least 60 fps in 3D games. Please advice regarding which graphics would closely maintain those numbers:

- Asus Geforce GTX 670 OC edition
- Asus Geforce GTX 680 OC edition
- Sapphire Radeon 7950
- Sapphire Radeon 7970

I'd pick the 7970. maybe the 680 if you get the higher vram one. It'll come in handy in 3d.

and you may not get 120fps steady with any card ( sans titan ).

but agree with the 120Hz monitor. You'll have one up on your fellow online gamers that don't. smoother play and quicker reaction.

Playing Crysis 3 at 120 fps is impossible, even if you four-way SLI Titans - you can't do it. With any single card, you'll struggle to even get 60 fps at any one time. If you're set on wanting those high FPS, you'll need to SLI/Crossfire cards. But from the cards you listed, I would go for none of those. I would go for a 770 and then add another one when you can afford it. SLI work a lot more effectively than Crossfire, and this card is a beast anyway, even by itself. It's a little better than a 680 but it priced as a 670, so you can't go wrong. If you do want to SLI later, you may want to get the 850W version of that PSU, just to to be sure.

Samsung make a 120hz monitor?

You want a GTX780 if you want too max out your settings and still be close to 120FPS.

780 like above or even sli 770s or even sli 780s. Wont be getting 120hz forever so will need to rethink what you want. Can have 120hz in some games for now, the fps might dip a little in some but what is it you want with a higher refresh? no screen tearing? no sync lag?

do u mean the OC edition or the Ghz edition

I never used a GhZ edition but don't think the over clock is going to make a real big difference. That's just my guess. Are a few more frames worth the extra money? I don't even know the price difference. You'll have to see if you can find any legitimate reviews comparing the two.
