Ok, so BF4 apparently has triple buffering enabled by default. Knowing this, I recommend leaving VSync off, since it will do you little good when triple buffering is already enabled and will only introduce input lag.
Triple buffering, on its own, has no benefits over double buffering. None at all. It's only purpose is when v-sync is on, and normally games will not enable triple buffering unless you have v-sync on, though it really has no downside either, unless v-sync is on.
Triple buffering is so that when v-sync is on, it can start rendering a new frame when waiting to send an already completed image to the screen, which has to occur between monitor refreshes. Otherwise the GPU would be forced to stop. In DirectX games, it...
