120mm Case fan (3 pin) rewiring to molex - but it's black, yellow and green just like a PWM without the blue wire?

Basically I have this fan that is a 3 pin connection that would normally go into the mobo, but I have one too many fans and was planning on soldering it etc into a molex in the right order, as 12v constant full speed is fine because I'm not worried about needing to control the speed or noise levels as it's just for air flow.

The problem is that if it were a normal black/yellow/red it would be a lot simpler, I'm just rather confused as to why its black/yellow/green. I have this fan here: (http://) and under tech data the image of the connections shows a black/red/yellow, but mine is black/yellow/green. This is making me think it's basically a 4-pin PWM that is missing the blue wire in a 3-pin? and I am assuming the black is still the ground wire?

I am wondering which one is the red wire for +12vdc and if it's still okay to rewire/solder it into a molex so I can still have 12v constant speed or if I actually still need to use all 3? I'd be okay using some sort of adapter but I'm still unsure why it's 3-pin and black/yellow/green.

Any help is appreciated and thanks in advance, Matt :)

Don't go by wire color. There is no standard color pattern for that situation. It tends to vary. Instead go by the pin-out of the fan connector and the Molex connector.

Use the Molex +12V for full speed, +5V if you want the fan to run slower and quieter.

Btw, for 2 bucks, you can save yourself the hassle of soldering: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812423171&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC-_-pla-_-Cables+-+Internal+Power+Cables-_-N82E16812423171&gclid=COfOhsS7-MsCFQ6naQod86oAEQ&gclsrc=aw.ds

Yeah I was thinking that the wire colours weren't really that important but I thought I'd ask just incase. And I was looking at adapters but most of them aren't available in my country :( and to get it to me is too much money.

Thanks for taking the time to find those for me though and answer :)
