1- I was thinking about getting a 120gb SSD to put my operating system on as i currently have a 7200rpm 500gb hdd. My mobo only has sata 2. With sata 2 would i still see clear speed increases to y hard drive.

2- If i was to pick a 120gb SSD what should i go for. My price would be about £70. I had noticed OCZ Vertex 3, OCZ Agility 3 and Kingston SSDNow V300. Can you please tell me which one is best or are there any better ones out there. Thanks

I have not used any of those units, but they should all have rather mature firmware versions now. I will wait for a user with more experience on these drives to chime in(Even my older Kingston V100 was faster than my 2 WDC blacks in raid0 on all day to day stuff.).

You WILL see a good boost even on SATA II because SSD's have extremely fast access times and this is what makes SSDs so fast for most users..

This SSD is people's choice not mine cause I never used it, but so many people cant go wrong.

If you are talking about of speed increase on HDD then I must say it will remain same as of now. But you will see a definite speed increase with SSD on even SATA II port. The response time and the boot-up time will benefit from SSD. Good luck.
