Question 12Gb DRAM or 8Gb DRAM + 16 Gb Intel Optane?

Hello,

I am looking to buy my parents a new desktop. They are business owners and require the laptop for such. I am unsure weather to get an inspiron with 12Gb DRAM or 8Gb DRAM + 16 Gb Intel Optane. Which would be more beneficial to them? It comes with a 1TB 7200RPM HDD.

12GB and an SSD if you get get one. Even a smaller SSD would be massively better than a HDD.

Optane is not a substitute for RAM.

Either RAM option and an SSD would be preferable.

If this is for business, then include a backup solution in the cost of it, set it up and make sure it works.
