12Gigs of ram, but only 1.5 Free need help please

Hello. gotta a question, regarding my Laptop, not my desktop. So about a couple of years back, I had some extra cash, and bought those so called ASUS"gaming laptops" cause honestly who build a gaming Laptop. Sorry going on a rant, anyway it has 12gigs of total ram , 6 gigs cached, and 7400 available, but the problem is that it only has 1.5gigs free, that seem quit Low, and was wondering if, there is an internal problem, or I got conflicting programs/apps or something . or is this normal? to the best of my knowledge free is not as important as available but just wanted to be sure.

yes I do indeed have 64bit, IIRC 32bit only lets u use 3.5gigs or ram or something along those lines
