Hi all,
My gtx 980, which didn't see much use stopped functioning recently, windows starting giving me error 43 and programs wouldn't recognise the card. I assumed that it was just the end of the gfx cards life, so I went and purchased a temporary card just until nvidia release their new cards. I purchased this HD 7870 (PowerColor PCS+ Myst), which was described as perfect conditon, without having much use and was at a very good price. The seller had a very high amount of feedback, all positive.
Everything was fine, until I started noticing that the card would heat up to about 60 degrees celcius on idle. I've taken a screenshot of the GPUz readings and it seems that the 12v is incredibly high, it sits at 13.5v. Not sure what the norm for VDDC is, but I've highlighted that too. I've also included the 12v reading shown on the motherboard, which seems to vary from 12.05-12.2, which seems fine.
What could be causing this problem? Is it just a coincidence that, I just lost my previous card and this one is faulty too? Or is there an issue with the PSU?
Specs of my PC:
-Ryzen 3 1200 (3.7ghz OC @ 1.275v)
-Ripjaws V DDR4 (2400mhz OC @1.25v)
-MSI B350m Mortar
-EVGA 600w 80+ Rated (White)
-PowerColor HD 7870 PCS+ Myst
(All components were purchased as new from Amazon about 6 Months ago, excluding the gfx card)
Sorry for possibly writing too much, I just could really use a fast responce, I don't want to possibly fry another gfx card.
Thanks in advance!
