12v LED Strip - Connect to molex.

I am no electrical guru and was wondering if it were possible to connect a LED Strip (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12v-LED-STRIP-LIGHT-3528-SMD-300-LEDS-5M-Flexible-Strip-Lights-6-Color-UK-stock-/320681128958) to a standard molex cable for power.

My PSU IS a 850 Corsair so should have enough power, any help is appreciated.

Red 5v +
both blacks are grounds

So you can hook up to the yellow and ether black for your led.

or cut the 12v dc plug off the ac to dc converter and wire in the 12v dc there

You want to feed 12v dc into the IC controller, that will feed the rest of the power to the led lights.

thankyou, I feel i understand.

If i buy the male connectors, i just put in a red and black wire and that will act as a DC connection?

if you buy the male dc plug to fit the IC controller use the yellow wire on the molex plug for the 12v + and ether one of the black wires for a negative (ground), make sure you look at the connector to get the wires on right.

Gotcha! So the remaining black and red wires can be left and taken care of!

Case fans normally come with an extra molex to fan connector. i keep these just for this case, the end that plugs into the PSU molex i will cut the yellow and black off of the end that is not used and rip the red and black out of the used end. this will leave you with only the yellow and black cable to plug into the cable from the PSU.
