Hi, I just got a Gigabyte GA-M57SLI-S4 for my (yet to arrive) Athlon 64 X2 6000+
Although the motherboard is an SLI one (nForce 570 SLI) I will only be installing one Radeon x1950 PRO.

While looking at it I noticed this IDE shaped power connector going TO the MoBo labeled "PCIE-12V".

In the manual it reads:
The motherboard includes a PCIE_12V power connector, which provides extra power to the onboard PCI Express x16 slot. When installing two graphics cards, please connect the power cable from the power supply to the connector".

Sounds pretty straight forward, but in fear of screwing up sth, I'm installing only one PCI-e graphics card, a Radeon no less, I'm good without connecting this to power or should I connect it anyway?

Check. Phew, I hadn't have installed a MoBo in a new case for quite some time, I screwed up twice and had to screw it on the case 3 times but now it's super clean, not a single cable dangling anywhere. Now to wait for the CPU to arrive...
