So here i am, new to the PSU game and I have some questions about PSU'.

I currently have a Antec SmartPower 2.0 500W PS and i absolutely love it.. its the quietest part of my computer, has what i believe to be great cable management and looks nice and clean/sleek.

now my question about 12v rails is that i have read many articles about recommended minimums on the 12v rail's amps for running graphics cards. These articles recommend 12v rails with high amperage that come close to double that of mine. So my question is whether since my ps has dual 12v rails does that alter the recommended 12v rail amp requirement (ie: article assumes single 12v rail) or is my powersupply simply underpowered for high-end gfx cards.

My PSU's specs states amps for 12v rail 1 as 17a and 19a for 12v rail 2.

Any light on the subject would be greatly appreciated..
