$1300 gaming coumputer?

This will be my first computer and my first build.
My main interest is gaming.
I'm a little anxious about building the computer but I'll have friends to lend help and advise.
Ive done as much research as possible and have put together the following list.
All prices are from Newegg.
I'd appreciate any comments or feedback.
Any potential for the ability to upgrade in future would be prized.

It's a really good build. The only thing I would change is 1600 RAM instead of 1333 - they're about the same price and 1600 will perform better.

Also the board you picked is fine, but take a look at this one:

Supports x8/x8 in case you want to sli/crossfire later, supports PCIe 3.0 x16 in case you upgrade to Ivy Bridge, uses the newer Z68 chipset, and is cheaper.

I would have to say you have a very nice build there , are you working with a budget price or is this just what you picked out. Not that it really matters but the prices of memory right now are extremely low and you can increase you ram size for really low amounts.

I made a mistake in an earlier recommendation. The case you picked has usb 3.0 on the front panel but the motherboard that I recommended (ASRock gen3 extreme3) doesn't have a usb 3.0 header. If you use that case with that motherboard, you won't be able to use those ports.

If you really like the board, though, we can help you find another case.

Also, I have use the motherboard that Inzone recommended (the ASUS P8Z68-V) and I like it a lot.

I agree that it's enough, but 1600 ram is so close in price that 1600 is a pretty popular choice with sandy bridge.

Hey all,
Thanks for all the feedback, I didn't pick these components for price, more from reviews and feedback I've read, I'm pretty flexible.
I don't want to spend more than what this system will cost, around $1,400.00 with everything needed.
I'll definitely look into upgrading memory, a diff. version of GPU & a MB to accept Z68.
If I could have use 3.0 usb on front of this case that would be nice but it wouldn't be a deal breaker. Any other case recommendations?
The only other thing I'll need are keyboard & mouse.

OP - Depending on budget, I would recommend looking into an SSD to run your OS and any critical/highly used applications. It makes a HUGE difference. Look around for some deals and you should be able to find a solid 64GB SSD for around $70 after mail-in rebates.
