$1300 Gaming Rig! Any thing better for the same price?

Solution

In a word. No. The battle between the 980 Ti and 1070 is similar to the battle between the 780 Ti and 970. They trade blows in games, but over time the 970 slowly became faster than the 780 ti due to driver optimization in most games. I sense a similar pattern will be struck with the 980 Ti and 1070. Not to mention the Pascal has technologies that allow it to handle VR's multiple displays better and Async Compute better than Maxwell.

Thanks for the response! But isn't the 980ti better than a 1070?

Looking at your build, the i7 is unnecessary. The i7 improves performance at 4K, but at 1080p or 1440p, an i5 is sufficient.

Doesn't factor in your case fans or LED strips (honestly, because I can't be bothered adding them in PCPP), but a comparable performer and a better use of funds.

I'd say with that extra 75 left over, he should opt for a better PC case.
Also, that is not a normal hard drive, that is a enterprise drive.
