-The 4850 x2 feedback on newegg is quite limited. From what I see, the 4870 X2 wouldn't be worth the extra $160, but I could be convinced otherwise.

-I choose the asus P5Q pro mobo, but the gigabyte EP45-UD3P is better in some respects. I hear the P5Q pro has an easier to use BIOS, but the UD3P is easier to OC and has fewer overheating issues. However, I am inexperienced with using any BIOS, and OCing isn't something that's vital. Is the P5Q pro the best choice for my needs?

I don't trust tower coolers on CPUs. Make sure you find benchmarks somewhere for that Xigmatech. I have a Zalman's CNPS9700, and it keeps my E8500 freaking frigid.

The anti-static wrap really isn't needed. Just make sure you touch something metal every once in a while, and you're fine. You can plug that PSU in and keep it off. The PSU is now grounded, so you can just touch that every once in a while. I work in a chemistry lab, so I just knick latex gloves because it looks cool building computers with fancy gloves on. It's not really needed though.

Given the price difference between p45s and x58s, it'd cost more than $150 to go with an i7. Wouldn't I get a better bang for my buck upgrading to a 4870X2 ($160 extra) than going the i7 route?
