1333 or 1600mhz

Hi, I have a Dell XPS 8300 with 12GB of 1333Mhz RAM but am comtemplating changing to 1600Mhz. However, the total RAM supported by the motherboard is 8GB.
Is it worth changing speed, would overall performance improve, etc. for everyday applications and multimedia tasks or should I stick with what I have?

you say that you have 12GB ram but the MB supports only 8? Anyway ... on intel machines the jump from 1333 to 1600 its a waste of money IF you have the 1333 ram ^-. There is no difference...

16GB total at 1333, 8GB total at 1600
