1394 pinout problem

Hi, I am trying to figure out how to connect a firewire header to a firewire card. I've looked around the internet and checked the owners manuals. The piece of equipment that requires it is old, but expensive, so I'd rather not fry it...

Here's what I've got:

Asus P8Z77-V Deluxe mobo (no 1394 support)

Corsair Obsidian Series 650D

The case header is looking for a 9 pin mobo connector, the card and cable are 6 pin. Will they talk to each other if I pick the correct 6 pins on the header (and how)?

I only need 1394a (400).

you wont be using 7 8 or 9
1 - tpa+
2 - tpa-
3 - gnd
4 - gnd
5 - tpb+
6 - tpb-

Thanks for the help, the ground labeling must be VG (black) and VP (white), does it matter which way these go?

If you look at the cable link you can see what I'm referring to (the tpa's not marked "+" are marked "-" in hand).

Well, I was a little unsure of the VG and VP labels, so I put a multi-tester to them. The VP is a power lead pushing 12 volts. This seems to make the previously suggested pin layout incorrect.

To be clear, the 6 pins are labeled as such:

tpa+
tpa-
VG (tested has ground continuity, black)
VP (tested hot 12V, white)
tpb+
tpb-
