I think he was refering to the UNoverclocked speeds and added the overclockable column just to give your justification to buy one. Seems more reasonable because Ive never heard Tom bash AMD price-performance after o/c

To get to 1400 though took the vapochill case remember? So the cost over a straight heatsink/case has to be added to get the right price/performance hit for 1400.

I think he's probably looking at the amount of overclock you get for $x. For example, from 800 to 1000 is 200MHz for $a, but to reach from 1200 to 1400 is 200MHz and $b. Additionally, from 800 to 1000 is about a 20% increase, right? But to go from 1200 to 1400 is only about 15%. So for your buck, you're getting more of an increase with 800MHz initially. And it keeps the system pretty cheap. But yeah, I think that 1400 for less than $300 is nothing to scoff at.

what machine over 700mhz isnt for gaming freaks? and btw i cant get my 800 up to a gig, ill try messig around some more, but it wont load win2k, guess i got a spud that only goes to 950, oh well thats pretty good

My company owns 2 1ghz boxes for the two graphic designers, although my 1Ghz is only taxed during gaming and software compilation......(4 mins for a 5mb EXE)
