hey everyone. i have a benq 140hz montior and its awesome. i use strobe light beta to give me more of a crt look. anyway whenever i plug in my second monitor (acer h6 60hz) my benq seems unable to go above 60 hz.
im using http://www.testufo.com/#test=framerates to test my framerates and as soon as i plug in the second it only shows 60 hz. whats the deal? im running on dual crossfired 7970s if that helps. my benq is plugged into the dvi port and my second is on the hdmi port.

Ok so your master monitor can go up to 140hz the slave monitor 60hz?

Ok first of all try to put the Acer h6 60hz in the DVI port and the benq in the HDMI see if that helps. Or try plugging in 140hz monitor alone on the DVI port if it doesn't go that high maybe the DVI port cant handle at a high rate

I agree that with nuwan frenando you cant mix refresh rates, but you should really look at another way to hook up the 140hz monitor up as dvi doesn't support a refresh rate that high i have a 144hz monitor and have to use a display port cable to fully utilize it

Are you sure you can'r mix?. I have an old Dell Inspiron E1505 lieing in storage.
Its a laptop the monitor is 60hz and the monitor i can hook with it is a max of 75hz. I don't have an integrated gpu with it. As i said very old. Seperate GPU it has. I can watch videos at 1080 smoothly. Anyways the laptop allows me to change between 60hz and 75hz with no problem just 4 seconds for it to change settings.

i guess i should ask how the displays are set up if you run them in different arrays with crossfire disabled I suppose it would be possible but at least in my experience I have not had any way to make it work and I have 3 displays one at 144hz which i game on and 2 other 60hz displays that i use for work and surfing when I game though I use a keyboards short cut to turn off the two outside screens and adjust the refresh rate to 144 and then when im done i again use the short cut to turn on all three in a spanning display at 60hz...there may be a way to set up two display arrays one screen in one and the other in a second array but you would likely have to dedicate one card to each screen??? not sure but worth a shot
