144 Hz with 60 hz problems when anything is on the 60hz screen

So when I have anything open on my 2nd monitor which is 60hz my 144hz isnt running games in 144 hz and the games look like they are 60hz

Ive tried everything possible and nothing is working.

i7-4790
gtx 970 msi
z97 pro4 mobo

Go to Advanced Video Configuration. On your 144hz monitor, set it as default. Down below, go to adaptor settings and at the monitor tab select 144hz. (Do all this using your main monitor).

Type it in Windows 10 search or right click desktop>exhibition config(something like that can't remember) and click the lowest button.
