[SOLVED] 1440 144hz Build for a beginner friend

Let me preface this with I am familiar with computers but am in no way "amazing" with the more technical things such as OCing and odd part compatibility issues etc.

I have a console friend who recently came to me as his only PC friend and proposed building a rig and wanted help. He would like a system that can push AAAs and open worlds at high settings at 1440 144hz. With all my research and a little wisdom from reddit I've been able to make what I believe to be something that can accomplish that.

Budget is as close to 1000-1100 as possible but I'm open to all suggestions. I have a micro center within driving distance as well (already checked there online for 1080s) Thanks in advance for any advice you can give!

RTX2070 is a little light for 1440p at 144hz. It will run many games just fine, but the latest titles won't get anywhere near 144FPS at high settings. Maybe 70-80FPS or so.

You don't really need aftermarket heatsink compound for a stock cooler. Just use what is provided. (Arctic Silver is also a relatively expensive paste for its performance, it was fine many years ago, but there are many products that do better) Arctic MX-4 is my usual go-to (not the same company) for general use.

Power supply is low quality. Something like this would be better, though for a build this nice, you might want to step up to gold rated supply.
