Hi there,

I've just got a Dell U2515H 1440p monitor. I'm trying to use this as my main, with my secondary screen as an AOC 1080p panel. I'm using a 750ti, with the latest Nvidia drivers, and Windows 8.1 fully up to date.

The second 1080p screen is blurry and horrible to look at, specifically text. It's obviously something to do with dpi scaling, as when moving a Chrome window from the 1440p to the 1080p screen the text seems to stay small like on the 1440p display but instead it's blurry. Opening the Start Menu on the 1080p display however and all the icons and text look perfectly fine as they should. It's as if text in applications seem to be scaling for my 1440p screen despite looking at them on the 1080p screen.

How can I solve this? Thanks!!

Update - When forcing 100% text scaling for all displays the secondary monitor looks fine but my 1440p screen looks too small (but still sharp). Obviously Windows is scaling the text on the 1080p screen when it has no need to. I just need to scale the 1440p screen to 125% but have the 1080p screen at 100%.

1. Try to scale the monitor through the monitor control panel.
If the first step works for you then avoid the following steps.
2. Try to scale the monitor through the Nvidia control panel or through the windows.
3. Make sure your drivers are up to date.

It's DPI / Text scaling that's the issue, not scaling of the monitor itself. But thanks for your suggestion!

I think then this may help you, http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/28310-dpi-scaling-size-change-displays-windows-8-1-a.html

Sadly I've already looked there and none of it seems to solve the issue without causing a different issue. Is it literally impossible for Windows 8.1 to handle a 1440p main monitor with a 1080p secondary monitor without issues?
